Gov. Malloy, banking on second term(?), sells Stamford house for a cool $1.3 million

malloyThe governor’s Ocean Drive East house has been sold for $1.3 million. The target of a state Dept of Criminal Justice probe into work done on the home that cleared Malloy of any wrongdoing, it was briefly rekindled as an issue in the 2010 gubernatorial campaign. Last summer, the four-bedroom, 2,893 square foot Shippan manse was the focus of questions from Hearst Connecticut Media on building and management executive Al Barbarotta, who managed the property for Malloy, after a Stamford municipal employee was found doing landscaping work there on his own time. Malloy produced invoices showing he paid for work done on the property. Shortly after the 2010 election he moved to the Governor’s Residence on Prospect Avenue in Hartford. According to property transfer records, Davis Ruth and Vivian Ruth bought the house from Dannel P. and Catherine Malloy on April 22, the date of the latest transfer listings.
