Low hanging fruit! DOT starts crackdown on texting while driving

The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office has announced that starting tomorrow, a new anti-texting enforcement project called “U Drive. U Text. U Pay” will start. It will run through September 24 in at least 25 towns across the state. The enforcement will use federal funds to discourage the unsafe behavior. Violations include $150 for a first offense, $300 for a second violation, and $500 for each subsequent violation.
