If the start of the General Assembly long budget-setting session on Jan. 7 is enough to set your heart aflutter, consider it is also the day of the second inauguration of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy 
and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, who today announced that tickets for the day’s traditional evening ball, hosted by the First Company Governor’s Foot Guard, will soon go on sale. The black tie event will be held not at the Armory, but the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. The ball will be funded by sales of the $200 tickets, $2,500 for a table of 10, meaning that folks are paying $500 more to sit together.

The governor is encouraging the use of mass transit to get to the event, but probably won’t expect his erstwhile Republican challenger’s campaign bus to be dragooned into service.
