Rep. Juan Candelaria, D-New Haven, wants to pick up former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s cudgel.
He’s submitted a bill http://www.cga.ct.gov/2015/TOB/H/2015HB-05461-R00-HB.htm that would add taxes on sugary drinks. It heads to the tax-writing Finance Committee in a year when lawmakers need big revenue to back fill both short-term and long-term state budget deficits.
