Senate President Martin M. Looney, Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff (below), Sen. Tim Larson and Sen. Mae Flexer will join Greg Smith, state commander of the VFW Department of Connecticut and Michael J. Zacchea, a retired Marine Corps lieutenant colonel at 1 p.m. to announce a plan to cut taxes for about 11,000 state veterans. They have scheduled a news conference in Room 1-A of the Legislative Office Building.
