Malloy’s budget would cost $ for state troopers

The Connecticut Conference of Municipalities just released a survey indicating that Gov. Malloy’s budget, which would force towns to pay for their resident state troopers, would cost 29 towns $3.1 million a year. They currently pay 70 percent of the cost of paying troopers. The governor’s budget would increase it to 100 percent.

Here is a list of some of the towns and what the extra amounts they would have to pay:

Barkhamsted- $55,000

Beacon Falls- $42,127

New Fairfield- $310,293

Oxford – $300,000

Woodbury- $99,407
