Andres Ayala wins unanimous confirmation for DMV post

andresFormer state Sen. Andres Ayala Jr. of Bridgeport was just confirmed to be the state commissioner of Motor Vehicles. The unanimous Senate vote was the result of putting his nomination on the consent calendar. “He’s certainly qualified for this position,” said Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, D-Norwalk, noting Ayala’s master’s degree in education, his career with Bridgeport public schools and his House and Senate tenure. “He’s someone who brings strong organizational skills and constituent service skills to the office of commissioner of Motor Vehicles,” said Senate President Pro Tempore Martin M. Looney.
