Rep. Dan Fox “lucky” he’s ill

foxState Rep. Jeff Berger, D-Waterbury, co-chairman of the powerful Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee, just told members of the tax-writing panel that third-term Rep. Dan Fox (left), D-Stamford, is home from the hospital after being away from the General Assembly for weeks with a serious illness. Berger, who like Fox is a member of the Judiciary Committee (which melted down on Monday amid personal attacks between a Republican and Democrat) said he’s been in touch with Fox, a lawyer. “He’s had a very protracted illness that required some extensive hospitalization,” Berger said. “He is home. In Judiciary Committee, I was texting him back and forth saying how lucky he was not to be there. And he acknowledged me. So that was a good sign. So, just to have everyone have Rep. Fox in their thoughts and prayers, he hopefully will be back with us very very soon.” The House Democratic caucus describes Fox’s ailment as a post-viral reaction from exposure to a strain of the flu.
