Stalin lives! Miffed Senate Republicans filibuster

In case you think Sen. Henri Martin’s excruciating recollection of his career as a Bristol home builder has anything to do with the bill that would prohibit variable-rate electricity contracts, Senate Republicans are in slow-down mode over perceived slights in the chamber, which Democrats nominally control 21-15. This was a slam-dunk bill that was the focus of a bipartisan news conference in the morning. Now, at 5, it’s still a slam dunk, but the basket is getting higher and higher and farther away….

GOP Senate advisor Chris Healy, on his Twitter feed, suggested four hours ago, at the start of the debate, that “Order 227” was in effect “Not one step backwards.” Here’s the Wiki reference to Stalin’s battlecry in 1942:
