Well it looks like we "Eastham" Easton farmers are already being left in the dust by our ambitious First Selectman who can't even remember the name of the town he claims he will continue to govern as he attempts to move on to bigger and better. It was insulting enough to us that he had to make his big announcment of his run for Congress from the big city rather than our insignifican small town. Noticed that among his 12 supporters today in Stamford were several of our democratic town leaders. No surprise as most of us have known for some time Mr. Herrmann is our leading RINO!

Chris Caruso alone, and none of the other flies like Bill Finch, deserves sole credit for this. Chris was able to rally the rest of the legislative body, sans Jack Hennessey (Chris' butt boy) to attend the gathering in Feb to oppose this rediculous creation of the Rell administration. Anyone who attended the gathering at the Virginia Ave location knows that there were existing and far better locations for this $15 Million facility, and for much less money.

Another gratuitously snide remark. Forming an "exploratory committee" for candidates who intend to run for office is a common first step, and benefits a candidate's fund raising in numerous ways, including permitting the candidate to raise greater campaign funds. It's a process that is widely accepted and one that is followed by most candidates for office, from congress to the presidency, and by members of both parties. Shifting from that "exploratory" committee to a full campaign committee eight months before the general election and five months before the primary hardly represents any sort of significant delay, as you imply.

Mr. Malloy has not been dithering or delaying or in any way putting off a decision to run by maintaining an "exploratory committee". Given all the years you've been covering politics, Mr. Dixon, you, of all people, should understand that. Suggesting with your headline that Mayor Malloy is "finallly scheduling" to transition his campaign by closing his exploratory committee that Mayor Malloy has engaged in some sort of dilatory tactic is misleading and wrong.

Dixon,I have to agree with Andrew Schneider.

When you put plate tracking cameras throughout our post-9/11, patriot act world you open a whole new way for Big Brother to watch you. I'm not a criminal, but I don't want to help the government monitor me, heaven knows that one day their motives won't be pure. We should all be concerned by the spread of CCTV.

I especially appreciate, Ken, that you felt the need to include in your intro the words the kids spelled wrong. What, no faith that people who live in BlogWorld could figure it out for themselves?

Me, either.

Don't imagine there will be too many attendees this morning. Kind of like a session at the house of representatives, it will be a TV camera event with no one in the audience. Enjoy the OJ.
