It’s either brains or brawn, right?
Not for Bethel offensive lineman Chris Valenti.
Valenti, a 6-foot-3 290-pound one-man wrecking crew on the football field who sports a 3.89 GPA off it, informed The News Times that he has verbally committed to Harvard University.
“Football has done for me what nothing else could,” Valenti said. “It’s given me an opportunity to go to the best University in the world and it’s given me the opportunity to do things that I never could have done.”
Valenti says he essentially ended his recruitment when he was admitted to Harvard. He was “recruited heavily” by Boston College since his freshman year and had also drawn interest from Rutgers and UCONN. He still receives letters in the mail from various schools and even opened ones from Penn State and the University of Miami (The U) earlier today.
