In 2012, the WNBA averaged just 7,457 fans per game, the lowest since its inception in 1997. The 2013 draft produced three franchise (potentially game-changing) players and personalities: Skylar Diggins, Elena Delle Donne and Brittney Griner, all expected to help revive the league.

In a Tim Duncan/David Robinson scenario, Griner landed in Phoenix with Diana Taurasi, who missed the majority of the 2012 season due to injury.

Here’s my column from Saturday on Taurasi and Griner, two different talents, two different personalities.
