Last week when the school board tried to meet to discuss the legal battle over Paul Vallas’ qualifications to serve as schools superintendent of the district, the board adjourned after a half-hour display of dysfunction.
The board will try again this week, with a meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room 305 of City Hall. This time the meeting was posted far enough in advance to satisfy Freedom of Information requirements.
On the agenda: discussion and any appropriate action regarding legal fees concerning Lopez v Vallas, (a matter that is being appealed to the state Supreme Court and for which the city has hired outside legal counsel) as well as a discussion regarding transition planning and a search committee for a new schools superintendent.
