Widen Margins & Smaller Fonts

When making study guides or taking notes on your computer that you plan on printing out, widen the margins and reduce the font size to utilize maximum page space.  I typically widen my top and bottom margins from 1″ to 1/4″ – 1/8,” use size ten font, and Arial Narrow.  Also, avoid double spacing.  This can take a 7 page study guide and turn it into 4 page study guide.  This will save a large amount of trees from being cut down for paper consumption and reduce the amount of pollution made during the production.  The paper you save by printing fewer pages will reduce your paper consumption and slow down the rate at which you use it up and have to buy more.
