Moore Honored

Maya Moore has been named to the five-player 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I First Team, which was announced today by the Academic All-America Committee. Nominations and voting for the All-America programs are conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Moore is now eligible to be named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team, which is expected to be announced in early March. She is seeking to become the first women’s basketball player at UConn to be named a first team Academic All-America in back-to-back seasons since Jennifer Rizzotti (1995, ‘96). Rebecca Lobo (1994, ‘95) and Leigh Curl (1985, ‘86) were also honored in back-to-back seasons.
Moore currently has a 3.7 grade point average in an individualized major.
