On Banks’ decision to go to UConn …
“I am extremely elated,’’ Trucks said. “That’s just a wonderful thing. This is what she’s wanted, to play at the highest level and that’s all I can want for my girls is that they get what they want, which is in her case playing for the best team with the best coach.’’
On Banks’ game …
“Pretty much she is a game changer defensively and offensively,’’ Trucks said. “She’s long as a guard, which gives her a lot more chance to shut somebody down as far as a guard is concerned on defense. Great vision as far as being able to read players, knowing what to do on defense and then also on offense just being able to find gaps and passes. She sees the floor so well, better than any other player I’ve ever had the pleasure coaching.’’
“The great thing about her is that she continues to improve on what she’s doing, but every year she’s picking one thing to try and get better at, which is really nice to see,’’ Trucks said. “If you could get all the girls to do that that’s the way you want to go through. As a freshman she came in and you could just see the talent. It was there. She already had her shot and everything. But just the maturity level that she’s gotten in the last couple years I think has helped. The talent is still there. Definitely. It keeps getting better and better very year.’’
