U.S. Rolls Past Canada To Open 2nd Round

Senior Maya Moore had two points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 18 minutes today as the U.S. defeated Canada 87-46 in the second round of the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Swin Cash had 10 points in 12 minutes. Tina Charles had nine points and five rebounds in 15 minutes. Sue Bird added nine points and three assists in 22 minutes.

The U.S (4-0) will meet Belarus (2-2) in the second of its three second-round games Tuesday at 2:15 p.m. (NBA TV). A showdown with Australia (4-0) looms Wednesday at 2:15 p.m.

    USA coaching staff cannot be pleased with Sylvia Fowles performance today.

    Yes, she is coming back from surgery.

    But she missed at least 3 easy shots that were not contested by the likes of Australia’s bigs.

    And she had the audacity to attempt a dunk and ended up traveling.

    Angel McCoughtry continues to shine on defense.

    Miss Maya had a shooting night similar to the 2010 NCAA Title game.

    USA needs to figure out how to click in their half court sets and how to make 3s.
