Sophomore post player Heather Buck will miss a minimum of two weeks due to a stress reaction in her left ankle, UConn announced today. Buck sustained the injury in practice Thursday.
The loss of Buck, who is averaging 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in 9.3 minutes this season, leaves the top-ranked Huskies with only eight healthy players.

Geno Auriemma should have already won the NCAA Coach of the Year award in the minds of the voters. If not, he will have after the next 2 weeks.
UConn will complete an undefeated Big East regular season and win the Big East tournament with 6 players.
Even if Tennessee or Stanford or Baylor wins the NCAA championship because they have more than 6 players in their rotation, Geno Auriemma has had one of his best seasons coaching ever.
UConn has Maya Moore and they do not. Hopefully she will imitate Diana Taurasi’s junior season NCAA tournament performance.
Hope that Heather Buck will be able to contribute productive minutes in the Regional Championship and the Final Four.
