As Sunday’s season opener against the College of Charleston rapidly approaches, it is becoming less likely that All-American Bria Hartley will be on the floor for the Huskies.
Hartley will not play in Wednesday’s exhibition game against Division II Holy Family due to a sprained left ankle. She still has yet to return to practice.
“I would hope sooner rather than later we actually get her to a practice,’’ UConn coach Geno Auriemma said. “And the fact that we play tomorrow and then we play Sunday, which is not too far away … Believe me, no one would be happier than me to have her available for Sunday’s game. But right now I’m not that hopeful. I hope so, but I don’t envision it happening.’’
Freshman Breanna Stewart did not practice Monday or Tuesday due to a sore right foot. She is listed as probable for Wednesday’s game. However, she could be held out as a precaution.

Hope that it’s not serious. Take your time and get well Ms. Hartley
Think that they Uconn should keep her out until second or third game of the season..that’s Hartley I’m talking about have to make sure she is @ least 90 percent maybe 100 percent against easy foe’s just my opinion.
