Calhoun Has UConn In Her Final Four

UConn Class of 2014 target Sierra Calhoun, a 6-foot wing from Brooklyn, has trimmed her final list of schools to Duke, Notre Dame, UConn and Tennessee, as reported by NYG Hoops Report.

“I have a great relationship with all the coaches,’’ Calhoun said in the report. “That is going to be important to me in my final choice. Also, a great opportunity to win a national championship as well as their style of play. Those schools had a strong presence at my high schools games throughout the year as well as the live period down at Boo Williams.’’

Calhoun averaged 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals for Christ the King High this season.

“She basically had every offer in the country,’’ Sierra’s father Omar Calhoun Sr. said in the report. “She feels that she has cut it to a fantastic four schools. She has a great relationship with the coaching staffs. Also, all four schools love her game and see her being a great player.’’

She is extremely talented and athletic. I sincerely hope Sierra Calhoun chooses UCONN. Geno and his staff could really develop this already exceptional player into an even more special one.

I’m not sure that UCONN is still that “hot” on Calhoun. Don’t ya love it when the Humble” parents state how all of the college coaches just “love her game?”
