Durr Scores To 23 To Lead U.S. Past Argentina At U-16s

UConn Class of 2015 target Asia Durr had 23 points (4-of-7 3-pointers; 7-of-10 FT), six rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes to lead the U.S. to a 98-28 rout of Argentina Thursday at the FIBA Americas U-16 Championship in Cancun, Mexico. Durr set a team U-16 single-game record for free throw attempts and the U.S. set a team U-16 single-game record by attempting 30 3-pointers.

The U.S., which made 20 3-pointers, forced 24 turnovers and Argentina shot just 19.2 percent from the field.

Fellow UConn 2015 targets DeJanae Boykin added 12 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals; Katie Lou Samuelson finished with 11 points and eight rebounds; and Kalani Brown had four points, five rebounds and two blocks.

The U.S. (2-0) will conclude preliminary round play today against Costa Rica (0-2) at 2 p.m.
