UConn All-American Bria Hartley scored 11 of her 17 points (3-of-5 3-pointers) in the first quarter and added five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 26 minutes to lead the U.S. to a 103-72 victory over Sweden today in the quarterfinals of the World University Games in Kazan, Russia.
The U.S ended the second quarter with a 14-0 run to open a 51-40 lead at halftime. It then ended the third quarter with a 22-7 run after Sweden had closed to within 53-49.
Fellow UConn All-American Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis added nine points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 23 minutes.
The U.S. (4-0) will meet Australia (4-0) in the semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m. (ESPNU).
