UConn All-American Stefanie Dolson has been named one of 30 candidates for the Senior CLASS (Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School) Award, it was announced today. The award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as a Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition.
Dolson is looking to join former UConn All-Americans Sue Bird (2002) and Maya Moore (2011) as recipients of the award.
The list of candidates will be cut to 10 midway through the regular season. Coaches
and fans will then vote for the winner, which will be revealed during the Final Four in April.
