Here is ESPN’s response regarding live streaming of UConn games this season …
In light of SNY’s released statement yesterday:
With the formation of the American Athletic Conference, ESPN established a new television agreement with the league. The American controls the women’s basketball inventory and the rights were allocated to ESPN – new in 2013.
SNY will continue to air 17 University of Connecticut regular-season games, as well as studio programming, through SNY’s regional footprint of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania, plus distribution on DIRECTV, Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse.
Outside the SNY footprint games can be viewed on ESPN3 – ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network. It is currently available to more than 85 million homes at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. Last year, SNY offered a pay-per-view streaming service both inside and outside the SNY footprint.
ESPN3 is also accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app and streamed on televisions through ESPN on Xbox LIVE to Gold members and Apple TV. The network is also available at no cost to approximately 21 million U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
