Tuck Underwent Successful Knee Surgery Thursday

Sophomore Morgan Tuck underwent successful surgery on her right knee Thursday at the UConn Health Center. The procedure was performed by Dr. Robert Arciero.

Tuck, who averaged 7.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 14.5 minutes in eight games this season, is expected to be ready for the start of the 2014-15 season. She will apply for a medical hardship waiver following the conclusion of this season.

“I am very pleased that the procedure on Morgan’s knee was a success,’’ UConn coach Geno Auriemma said in statement. “Morgan knows how hard she is going to have to work during the rehabilitation process and I am confident this knee injury will be behind her at the beginning of next season.’’

Morgan has had a tough time at UCONN after being a highly recruited player out of Bolingbrook, IL. I hope that her surgery was a success and that the NCAA grants her a waiver so that she has an additional year to realize her ability and UCONN can benefit from having her on the roster for three more years. Best of luck Morgan.
