UConn incoming freshman Sadie Edwards was named the Most Valuable Player of the All City Classic Wednesday, scoring 20 points to lead the Suburban All-Stars to a 72-69 win over the City All-Stars at the Haverford (Pa.) School. Edwards scored 11 straight points at one point in the game.

Here is what former Blair Academy teammate and UConn 2015 target Batouly Camara had to say about Edwards …

“She’s a great player and she’s someone if you’re on her team she’s going to push you to be better every day,’’ Camara said. “She sets the bar every high in practice.

“She’s a competitive person. Very competitive. Has a great work ethic. So I think that’s what sets her apart. I think she can do well (at UConn).’’

Camara, a 6-foot-2 forward from New York, N.Y., said she plans to take her official visits this fall. She said there are no schools that stand out at this point.

“Right now, I’m definitely keeping my options open,’’ Camara said. “I’m just trying to get to know a little bit more about every school before I narrow my list.’’

However, drawing interest from UConn means a lot to Camara.

“I think that just shows the work I’ve put in,’’ Camara said. “It’s an honor to even be looked at by UConn and it’s something I’m very happy about.’’
