Banks Headed To Penn State

Per her Twitter account, former UConn guard Brianna Banks has enrolled at Penn State. She will have to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules and has one year of eligibility remaining.

“Officially a Lion at penn state,’’ Banks said on Twitter Friday night.

UConn announced that Banks, who averaged 3.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 14.2 minutes in 37 games (eight starts) last season, would transfer May 20. In 90 career games with the Huskies, she averaged 4.4 points, 1.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 14.2 minutes.

Not everyone can measure up to UCONN’s standards but that doesn’t make them a poor basketball player. Actually she may bloom at a school with lesser expectations. Good Luck to you.

Banks played really hard for UConn but never became the player the Huskies hoped she would become. Injuries were part of the problem, and Banks provided value time out for Moriah Jefferson. Nice kid; best wishes for success with the Lady Lions.
