Anyone out there remember the Bridgeport Jets?

|

Attention, all you former fans of the Bridgeport Jets …

From 1968 to 1973, the Jets played in the Atlantic Coast Football League and I’m sure there are many of you who remember spending your Friday or Saturday night at Kennedy Stadium, watching the Jets take on such teams as the Jersey Jays, the Long Island Firebirds, the Roanoke (Va.) Buckskins and the Hartford Knights.
Well, did any of you buy a program? Anyone take any photos? If so, I’d like to borrow them for a project I’m working on. Pennants? Jerseys? Anything. If it was part of the Bridgeport Jets history, I’d like to see it.
Please e-mail me at celsberry@ctpost.com and let me know what you’ve got.

Thanks

What was your dad’s last name? I actually have a couple of programs from 1971 that would likely have your father’s name in there. I could scan them and e-mail them to you.

I would also be interested to speak with anyone who remembers this team and has some memorabilia, esp. photos. My father played as middle linebacker for Bridgeport Jets from 1969-1971 and has nothing to remember this time by. He is retiring from his job soon and feeling a little down about it, so I thought this would be a fantastic Christmas present for him if I were able to photo copy a team roster photo or something similar.
