Congratulations to Central’s fencing team

|

Couldn’t make it to the annual Central High School St. Patrick Day fencing event this morning but at least I can give a shout out to some of the Hilltoppers fencers that recently competed in the All-State competition at Hopkins School in New Haven.
Senior Nicholas Thompson won second place in men’s epee class, competing against 340 other fencers from 30 high schools across the state. Thompson also took part in the team event with seniors Ibrahim Olaosebikan and Damon Brewington and tied for third with 50 points with Fairfield Ludlowe.
Other Central students that competed in the all-state event were, Karl Marx Delphonse, Juneal Philogene and Xavier Gilliard (from Fairchild Wheeler High School) in men’s foil. Representing Central’s women fencers were, Tatiana Padin, Taina Vilorio and Claudia Osorio in women’s epee.
