Chris - I first met and got to know Dave and several of the beat reporters back in 1981 when I was with the UCONN men's hoop team - he was always a class act and he will be missed. He was a great writer and even a better guy - I remember Ciach Pernod being a New Haven guy always had a deep respect for Dave. What a sad loss!

College basketball masquerades as a sport when you look at top teams like U of Conn. Fairfield has plenty of opportunity to host at their own arena and Webster while U CT has their games (and turf) in Storrs and when a bigger arena is needed in Hartford. There's no logic in having a third "home" site, nor is there a logic in having a top national team give up dollars to a regional.

I agree 100%. I have said for years that the UConn Women are the closest thing to a state team that Connecticut has. I regularly attend the XL Center games, but there are plenty of folks that can't.

Let's spread the fun around. I wouldn't be surprised if more folks would begin to to travel up north to support the Lady Huskies.
