Bruno … Much Ado About Nothing ?

Now see this is where I get in trouble with my brethren and sisteren, I don’t have a problem with the movie “Bruno”.

(duck for flying tomatos)

You see, I can laugh at myself, while there are so many others who are wrapped so tight in the Rainbow flag that the littlest slight against the LGBT community is enough to make their heads spin like Megan in the movie “The Exorcist”.

But then my attitude is I’m a man who happens to be of the LGBT community and not the other way around.

Personally I have no use for labels except for on consumable products.

I don’t attend Pride events, I don’t fly a flag, I don’t wear a pin. I do on occasion wear a purple golf shirt.

I do though, through my blogs, point out the unfairness towards LGBTs or the miscreants who would like nothing better than to see LGBTs go the way of the dinosaur.

But at the same time on my blog “Bitchy Old Queen” I do at times make fun of the Rainbow crowd.

Now we have all these “goodie two shoes” and groups finding fault with the movie “Bruno”, way too many for me to link to.

One of my favorite sources for stories with which to comment on is QUEERTY (warning: some of the ads on the website readers not of the LGBT persuasion may find offensive) which has this great article about what “HRC and GLAAD thinks is best for the LGBT community”.

Look HRC, GLAAD and any other groups, bloggers and “enlightened” commentators, I will decided what is best for me as part of this community, I don’t need to be cuddled and protected.

Just because you don’t care for it when someone spoofs LGBTs (don’t even get me started on commercials) doesn’t mean you need to come charging out like the hero King (or is it Queen) in shining armor on a white steed.

When I want the cavalry to come protect me from the Injuns I’ll blow my bugle.
