Metro-North still off track Monday

|

All service on Metro-North Railroad — which was suspended as of noon Saturday in anticipation of Hurrican Irene — remains suspended all day today (Monday, Aug. 29).

Metro-North reports there has been “significant” damage to all its branch lines caused by the storm, ranging from flooding, trees on tracks and downed power lines.

As of Monday, the railroad’s website says that Grand Central Terminal is expected to re-open at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the goal of restoring some, if not all, rail service throughout the region.
