Fairfield hearing set on Merritt trail

|

The long and winding road toward a possible trail for hikers and bikers paralleling the Merritt Parkway through Fairfield County comes to Fairfield on April 10.

Planners of the state project, initially suggested two decades ago, are gathering public comments on the feasibility of the trail and comments about the prospective path through eight municipalities along a nearly 40-mile-long route.

There has been a series of public forums sponsored by the state Department of Transportation on the project, and the last one will take place at 6 p.m. April 10 here in Fairfield at Osborn Hill School on Stillson Road.
