Waste not … Extended transfer station hours ending

Extra hours at the town’s transfer station on One Rod Highway remain extended through Sunday, to help residents dispose of debris in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.

The station will be open from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through this Sunday. Effective Monday, the regular hours will be re-instituted: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays and closed Sundays.

Nearby, the town’s recycling and yard-waste center, operated by Green Cycle, has resumed operating on its regular fall schedule: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 15.
