It’s Carnival Time in Rowayton

Rides for the kids (and fearless adults), games of skill, gourmet food trucks, face painting, live music…there’s something for every family member at the Rowayton Carnival.  The event, which benefits the Rowayton Elementary School, begins on Friday, May 10, from 5 to 10pm, and runs all day on Saturday the 11th (10am to 5pm) and takes place on the grounds of the school which is located at 1 Roton Avenue, in Rowayton.

In addition to thrilling carnival rides including The Hurricane, a Ferris wheel and roller coaster, the popular Andrew Stefanau Salon & Spa will be hosting a tent dedicated to fun hair creations, there will be fun games including Beat the Goalie by by Packer Soccer, Fast Swing by the Sono Ice House, a Batter’s Box Pitching Game, Face Painting by Crystal Theater and Henna Tattoos from Trendy Henna.

Gourmet food trucks include; Melt Mobile gourmet grilled cheese, Skinny Pines pizza, Jr’s WeeniemobileTaco Pacifico and Robeks Smoothies.  No carnival would be complete without fried dough which will be prepared by the Rowayton School PTO.

The raffle features great prizes from local businesses including a private dinner for 6 with well-known local chef Jamie Sydney; a $1,000 cash prize; and a $280 gift card for private lessons with Miro Tennis. In addition, there is the Rowayton School Store selling hot items including candy and Rowayton School Spirit Wear.

“We are thrilled to bring the Carnival back this year! It is such a fun event that really brings together the local community and our surrounding towns. We offer such a great and wide variety of activities, rides and incredible food – and we encourage everyone to come out for this great fundraiser for Rowayton Elementary School,” said Karine Sweitzer, President of the Rowayton School PTA said in a release.

Discounted advance tickets and unlimited ride wristbands can be purchased through Wednesday, May 8 at Rowayton Elementary School or requests can be emailed to The bracelet is priced at an affordable $25 for Friday and $35 for Saturday’s or there is an option to buy for both days at $60 with 5 PTA-activity tickets included. In addition, purchase discounted PTA game tickets in advance for $25 for 30 tickets for $25 whereas they will be $1 each at the Carnival.
