Longchamp Goes Luxe

Longchamp, the Parisian house best known for their origami-inspired nylon LePliage totes, has been quietly redefining themselves as a fashion brand – creating a line of splurge-worthy leather bags and small leather goods, a small selection of footwear, and a knockout ready-to-wear collection (click to watch the runway show).  The brand has collaborated with bad-boy designer Jeremy Scott and supermodel Kate Moss to develop handbags that lend an air of edginess to Longchamp’s traditionally ladylike and utilitarian designs.

We visited the Longchamp boutique on Greenwich Avenue to take a peek at their fall line and were introduced to the latest handbag collection, Quadri, which illustrates Longchamps quality leather work with a bias stamped weave.  Here’s a look inside!

Selections from the Quadri collection include slouchy shoulder bags and structured top-handle bags.

This tiny bag packs big style with a play in contrasts in a bold combination of crocodile, python, and shagreen style leather.

Colorful envelope clutches go from office to evening – slip one into your tote bag in the morning, and you’re ready for happy hour at the end of the day.

A patchwork design in exotic patterns and leathers reveals its carriers sense of style and adventure.

Travel made easy….carry on everything you need in Longchamps leather tote and toiletries bag.

It’s always all about the shoes!  These are gorgeous, sexy, and strappy.

Moto-style boots go super-chic.  Love the buckles!

Jeremy Scott designed tote takes a poke at technology with this keyboard inspired bag.

A buttery-soft leather jacket adds a luxurious fur collar.

A simply cut dress in orchid is the perfect alternative to the LBD for holiday parties.

A selection of small leather goods including iPhone and iPad cases, leather jewelry, key chains, scarves and other practical leather goods are available at Longchamp in Greenwich (272 Greenwich Ave,(203) 661-1675) and online.
