Good manners have become a hot topic! Instilling the social graces in little ones takes time and reinforcement – and in our go-go world, these refinements are often forgotten. But a new play making its off-Broadway world premiere at the Summer Theater of New Canaan (Waveny Park) on June 14, aims to address the subject in a fun and humorous way! “Merrilee Mannerly – A Magnificent New Musical” kicks off the Summer Theater of New Canaan’s season with a delightful family friendly show.
Enter to win four tickets to the premiere of the show on June 14, at 10:00AM, by leaving your politest comment in the comments box below! One winner will be chosen at random. Deadline to enter is noon on Thursday, June 12!
The show is based on the “Mom’s Choice” winning book, “Merrilee Mannerly and Her Magnificent Manners,” written by two Connecticut authors, Mary Cashman and Cynthia Whipple. In the story, Merrilee Mannerly loves good manners – in fact, she’s practically an expert. Imagine Merrilee’s surprise when a princess from a land of no manners moves in next door and invites her to a birthday party. With her grandmother’s magnificent Manifesto of Manners in hand, Merrilee Mannerly is ready to help her new friend, Princess Posy, host the best party ever! Along the way, silliness ensues, friendships are formed, and the two girls discover the real secret behind good manners.
The show will run from June 14 to July 19. With special “Merrilee Mannerly” events taking place at STONC and at local libraries.
