A Taste of New Canaan! Taste Tours Feature 4 NC Restaurants

|

Four restaurants, one night.  That’s the concept behind “New Canaan Taste Tours,” a series of special evenings which allow patrons to dine at four outstanding New Canaan restaurants in one night!

An easy tour with up to 30 minutes in each of the featured restaurants, the New Canaan Taste tours are similar to a town stroll or progressive dinner – unlike other tours which require that you travel in a group, this one is limited to 12 people and allows you to choose a time and date that suits you – allowing for a more relaxed approach to dining.

Each restaurant on the tour has been selected for their superior cuisine, service and for providing a totally different dining experience for each course.

Launching on Tuesday, July 15, the New Canaan Taste Tours are coordinated in partnership with the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and the popular website, CT Bites.  The inaugural New Canaan Taste Tour will feature the award-winning Elm Restaurant, Picador, Chef Louis, and South End.  Taste Tours will run every Tuesday and Wednesday, up to and including, August 27th.  There will be two sittings, 6:30 or 7:30 pm,

Each restaurant will feature their specialty cuisine focusing on fresh, seasonal market ingredients – for example: you’ll be treated to summer snacks and bites at Elm, followed by tostadas, fried calamari, and chicken croquettes at Picador, Chef Luis spices up the evening with shrimp and sausage jambalaya, and South End finishes the evening with dark rum caneles with rum raisin ice cream.

Organizer and New Canaan resident, Rachel Lampen comments; “I previously organized tours at prestigious London restaurants  for the American Express Lifestyle teams. They were a fantastic  way to get a sense of the restaurant’s food and ambience.  When I moved to New Canaan over a year ago,  I was struck by its incredible restaurant offering and want it to become a  real food destination.”  Lampen plans to extend the tours to other New Canaan restaurants in the future.

A unique way to spend an evening, the tours are ongoing and not group driven.  ”You are seeing the restaurants in their best light,” says Lampen. “The tours are perfect for celebrations, blind dates, catching up with friends, having fun with family, team building, or giving as a gift.”

The New Canaan Taste tours are sold through the CT Bites Invites website and cost $65 per person (for all four courses, inclusive of  tax and gratuity).  Beverages are not included. Click HERE to purchase tickets.
