Copperhead: Screening and Fundraiser for The New Canaan Historical Society

1365528969_thumbBe the first to see Ron Maxwell’s new Civil War movie, Copperhead. “Based on the extraordinary novel by Harold Frederic,…Copperhead tells the story of Abner Beech, a stubborn and righteous farmer of Upstate New York, who defies his neighbors and his government in the bloody and contentious autumn of 1862” (“Copperhead the Movie”, 2013).

The New Canaan Historical Society presents a special advanced screening and fundraiser on Wednesday, May 1st at the New Canaan Playhouse, giving history buffs an early opportunity to learn a regional and intimate story from the Civil War era. The movie will be previewed around the country but New Canaan will be the very first showing!! Director Ron Maxwell will introduce the movie. Following the film, the audience is invited to a private red carpet celebration at Le Pain Quotidien.
