“Spring Up!” with CHN

The Arcade & Main Street Storefronts Made in Bridgeport, Marroquin Ruben Weaving Workshop, Paradox Ink, Park City Desktop, and Magnacon 7 will be hosting special workshops & discounts. Bring the kids to take part in a free mosaic program at the Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council. Plus, live music, a public art tour, and refreshments! It’s going to be a day of art, performance, and innovation at this historic destination.

The “Spring-Up” Schedule of Events includes: acoustic guitar with Chris Cavaliere, Art Spotfree mosaic sampler at the Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council, the formal ribbon cutting, Motown and R&B with Michael Dunham Band, and guided Bridgeport Creates tour with Rhazul Branch. Meet at Main Street entrance of The Arcade Mall.

Throughout the day, Liz Squillace of Paradox Ink will be Screenprinting t-shirts live at the event. Park City Desktop will offer free WordPress and Adobe Illustrator workshops. Made in Bridgeport will be hosting a Cookies for Cory fundraiser and kid’s beading workshop. Try weaving on a loom at a weaving demo from Marroquin Ruben Weaving Workshop. Magnacon 7 will host the Bridgeport Creates Public Art tour.

Plus, additional special discounts, workshops, “Artist for the Day” Activities at World Artist Network tours of the soon-to-open Ripka’s Bridgeport Market, and pop-ups with FabuLush and Soul Sisters Studio.

CreateHereNow Bridgeport and Magnacon 7 have partnered with public artists to create an installation of artworks capturing the essence of the past, present and future City of Bridgeport. Artwork is on display in various vacant property windows and other surfaces throughout the Downtown Bridgeport area. Designed to engage the pedestrian experience by introducing an element of the unexpected into the everyday sidewalk, works feature images of contemplation, beauty, humor, and Bridgeport’s vibrant community.
