Fresh from a hot show at the Fairfield Theatre Company, Hot Club of Cowtown brings their unique and rowdy blend of Gypsy Jazz and the American Songbook to Ballard Park in Downtown Ridgefield as part of the summer music series, CHIRP. And, yes, Eva, the dog in the photo, joins them on stage!
The performance is FREE — so there is no excuse to miss the sounds of this quick witted, authentic and spontaneous musical trio. In the spirit of legendary swing players like Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, the group brings us an American update on a classic sound; 1930’s Paris via Austin Texas. Elana James, Whit Smith, and Jake Erwin use fiddle, guitar, and string bass to glue together these two distinct styles and explore the gulf between them.
They are a CHIRP audience favorite 4 yrs. running, and have been called the “world’s most amazing Western Swing Band” (London, Sunday Times). CHIRP is a series of free Tuesday and Thursday night summer concerts in Ballard Park located in the heart of Ridgefield.
