Family Centers recently recognized a longtime board members for their contributions ot the agency and honored local business leader Kip Koons at its annual meeting, held this past Tuesday. Darien resident Koons spent 25 years on the Family Centers board of directors. An expert in the field of mergers and acquisitions, he has helped facilitate the six mergers to diversify Family Centers. Koons has also served on the agency’s nominating, finance /investment and various program committees, all while raising funds and awareness for Family Centers. As the meeting, the agency presented Koons with the 2013 Helen Gratz Rockefeller Outstanding Volunteerism Award. The award is presented annually to a member of the Family Centers board of directors, and is the agency’s highest honor for volunteer work. Toyota of Stamford’s general sales manager Brandon Campbell was also named the 2013 Family Champion. Campbell, of Stamford, has initiated Toyota of Stamford’s community outreach efforts to benefit some of the community members that Family Centers serves.
