Harman names corporate affairs vice president

Harman International Industries, Stamford-based global audio and infotainment group,announced that effective Nov. 4, Paula Davis will serve as vice president of corporate affairs and communications.
She will have responsibility for global communications, corporate social responsibility, community relations and change management.
“Paula brings to Harman a unique blend of experience and expertise in corporate communications and sustainability, having led these efforts for other premier consumer and business-to-business companies, said Dinesh Paliwal, chairman, president and CEO.

Davis is president of Alcoa Foundation, one of the largest U.S. corporate foundations with assets of approximately $460 million. Prior to that, she led corporate communications for Pepsi Bottling Group from 2007 to 2010. She has served in corporate communications roles  at Siemens Corporation, MVP.com, Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Sara Lee Corp.

“Communications will play a lead role in these endeavors, and we are excited that Paula will be at the helm,“ Paliwal said.

Davis was recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal as a “Woman Worth Watching in 2012″ and was named a 2011-2012 David Rockefeller Fellow by the Partnership for New York City.

She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in business management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
