The Small Business Administration has named Webster Bank its top lender in Connecticut, in total units and dollars. This is the bank’s sixth consecutive win in this designation, indicating that Webster Bank has facilitated millions of dollars in loans, contracts, loan guarantees and other forms of assistance for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Webster is also the number SBA 504 lender in Connecticut for the 12th consecutive year. These loans to small businesses be used to make purchases for real estate and equipment, among other things.
“This is an unprecedented achievement and once again confirms Webster’s consistent commitment to the business community,” Bob Polito, senior vice president, director government guaranteed lending at Webster, said in a statement.
Webster’s SBA specialists closed 78 new loans in 2013 and set a new dollar record of $34.4 million, according to the company.
