Terex has joined the top tier of the “I Make America” campaign’s company supporters. The campaign, presented by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers was launched in 2010as a grassroots effot to improve American manufacturing policies. By bolstering manufacturing, the hope is to create more jobs in the U.S. and maintain the country’s competitive edge with other countries around the world.
As one of the state’s manufacturers, the Westport-based Terex produces equipment for various industries, including construction, mining, shipping and transportation.
“We are very pleased and proud that Terex is among the top supporters of AEM’s I Make America campaign,” Ron De Feo, Terex chairman and chief executive officer, said in prepared comments. “Building awareness of the need to improve our national infrastructure is critical to convincing Congress to fund these important initiatives.”
I Make America Gold-Level supporters are a group of companies that have achieved participation benchmarks, which include significant employee involvement, outreach to legislators or promoting campaign sign-ups.
So far, the campaign has enlisted the support of about 27,000 people across the country.
