Hit the road

There is such a thing as trying too hard to fit in with one’s teammates, and Ryan O’Marra should really get that lecture before it’s too late. The kid shows up on Team Infirmary with a cold developing into walking pneumonia. That clears up, and now he’s got an eye infection. He’s probably out for the weekend.

But Blake Comeau is here, flying in this morning and arriving after practice. Allan Rourke didn’t skate and is out for at least Game 1, while Justin Papineau and Jeff Hamilton remain day-to-day. Otherwise, the gang was all back, all the same as usual.

Some belated milestones after sorting through the regular-season stats last night:

–Bridgeport finished the season with 199 franchise victories.

–The franchise’s 1000th goal was scored Feb. 15 against Hershey, Wyatt Smith from Joel Bouchard and Jeff Hamilton on a power play at 9:20 of the first. Of course, that includes seven bonus goals for shootout wins; the real 1000th goal was scored two nights later in a loss at Springfield, Jeremy Colliton from Hamilton and Bouchard at 15:31 of the second.
