That's garbage

RIP Danbury Trashers, who suspended ops Monday along with the Adirondack Red W Frostbite. There’s a lot going on in Danbury right now, and I’ll leave the details of the indictment of James Galante to the more legal-minded. The News-Times has a .pdf copy of the indictment on their site. For whatever it says about me, my first inclination upon paging through that, despite everything else in there, was to rant about salary caps. Ah, some other time.

Meanwhile, deepest condolences to those who fell for the Trashers. I know the feeling.

The U-Haul now looks even more like the old I.

Nothing too firm about the coaching search, though if things don’t work out here, it’s good to see that Pat Bingham might have some options. Mom, baby and dad are all doing well, from what I hear.

The sometimes-pivotal Game 5 is tonight in Hershey.

Now that the rain has stopped (for now), the Brakettes are unstoppable (for now). This story in the Austin American-Statesman caught my eye, about Cat Osterman. She’ll be busy with national-team stuff this summer, but John Stratton’s still hoping to see her here. “It’s one of those years where she’s going to be very, very busy,” he said Sunday. “Maybe next year. She’s always told the girls she wants to be a Brakette. … She’s never said anything different.”

We’ll see.

Meanwhile, one of the two phone lines at my house isn’t working. Like, nothing at all; no dial tone. So, for the first time ever, coming to you live from the other one…
