BRAKE TIME: 6-0

The Brakettes are undefeated but can’t make anything easy. They could have won 3-0 tonight, had there not been a walk and a hit and an error and a wind shift…

Seriously: Wind shift. Nikki Myers was cruising along with a sick little changeup, and then the wind turned from blowing out to blowing in from left. John Stratton said when Myers is pitching into the wind, the ball moves and breaks. When the wind is behind her, it blows the ball along a little faster, and the ball gets to the hitter before the break.

I just loved that and had nowhere to put it in the story. I’m guessing I’ll have a hockey post later, so…
