CFA, Day 6: It’s in Revelations*, people!

Got a few minutes on the phone today with Jack Capuano — a little story in the paper tomorrow. Capuano also mentioned something that Kimber Auerbach mentioned in his report today: Jamie Fraser dropped about 12 pounds and has really looked quick. Got a kick out of the Pitton-Regier encounter that Kimber describes. Tonight, Jon Sim scored twice in a 3-1 big-club win over Montreal.

There’s another rookie game Thursday, with about a half-and-half mix of tryouts/draft picks and expected Tigers.

There be good news in Uni Watch, mateys**: Refs will still wear orange bands this year. Sherry Ross is going from the News back to the radio booth, Tom Gulitti says.

How your life changes in one, two, 14 years: Homer Goes to College was on in syndication today. Remember? “Plug it in, plug it in!” “What, the rock tumbler, or the TV?” “The TV! The TV!” Hey, if some nerd unplugged my television just when Scratchy was about to get Itchy, there would have been a nerd beatdown***. But do you get these absentminded things in your head? What hit me right afterward is that Itchy and Scratchy must be on DVD by now in Simpsonsworld, so Bart and Lisa would have seen it… And then I thought, well, if that happened today, it’d be on YouTube within a half-hour.

O brave new world, yadda yadda….

The next half hour was Marge on the Lam, not a classic, but some classic bits: The running Lesley Gore gag, the Lionel Hutz identity change bit, and the line in the header…

*-Sic.
**-Avast! I had to. Sorry.
***-Although the nerd getting beaten down might have been me.
