Like that band-aid company

Utah coach Jason Christie asked Gregg Johnson about the $100. What $100, Gregg asked. The $100 Keith Johnson gave Gregg, Christie joked, so Gregg wouldn’t show him up.

Keith had a goal and an assist Friday in that 2-0 win, and he’s right there in the mix of people who won’t be making any decisions easier for the Islanders and the Sound Tigers.

“All the kids up to this point have really given us everything they’ve had,” said Jack Capuano, who also laughed as he praised Keith Johnson as a fellow U-Mainer. “There’s tough decisions to be made the next couple of days. One thing we know, no matter who goes to Utah, we’ve got some quality kids, some high-caliber kids that we’re not going to be afraid to call up.”

Not for nothing, but do Bridgeport’s shot totals of 9-7-9 call to mind a different Johnson for you, too?

I like the looks of this Sobotka kid. Feisty, physical, and he’s got some moves, too. Did some of the same things in the rookie game here a few weeks ago.

Apparently Drew Fata put one in at the Garden tonight, but it was waved off because Darryl Bootland had interfered with Henrik Lundqvist.

Mentioned before about covering a game at Shelton. It’s weird. Like watching a game on an old TV from across the room with the sound off. And the only camera angle you have is that annoying one from the corner.

The Rangers are suing the league over promotions and their Web site. “The NHL has no competitive justification for seizing the Rangers Web site, which MSG today uses as a competitive tool to generate and maintain fan interest in the Rangers in competition with other NHL teams,” MSG said. Looks like SOMEONE hasn’t been reading the Little Red Book…

And finally: The Phillies’ magic number is two.
